We are seeking suitably qualified experienced Social Workers to provide services at the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul). Please note all applicants must be eligible for AASW membership.
As a Grade 1 or a Grade 2 Social Worker, you will join an established team that deliver psychosocial assessments, clinical interventions, and the implementation of relevant links and services for the discharge care needs of adult patients across all areas of the hospital, including the medical, surgical, and sub-acute units.
These are permanent positions and can be up to full time hours with an ADO. Position hours may also be split across multiple applicants.
Regular supervision for this role is provided as well as support from the existing Social Work team, and a commitment to the provision of ongoing professional development.

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) in the role of Public Relations Manager or Public Relations Consultant. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the WGHG’s corporate image through managing WGHG’s communication initiatives.
The successful applicant will promote our services, coordinate fundraising activities and be responsible for managing media and other public enquiries. Ideally we are seeking an experienced Public Relations (PR) Manager, however we also strongly encourage applications from Public Relations (PR) Consultants as an alternative option.
The role’s requirements will be tailored based on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The PR Manager will oversee and implement the PR/media strategy across WGHG whereas the PR Consultant will provide advice and operational support with regard to media and communications, donor management, event management and marketing activities.
This is fixed term opportunity for 12 months to commence as soon as possible. Our Maternity service provides pregnancy care to up to 1000 women and their families per year. Staff have the ability to rotate throughout the service on a daily basis to optimise continuity of care, and working within your full scope of practice. Staff are supported by our education team with one-on-one learning, in-service education and tailored learning as necessary.

- Current registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated sound level of midwifery skills and works within safe practice principles

An exciting opportunity has arisen for interested Nurses at WGHG to join the Learning and Development Unit in the role of Clinical Support Nurse. We are seeking expressions of interest from motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Nurses to provide clinical support to our Perioperative/Theatre team with a focus on Graduates and Postgraduate participants. This is a Fixed-term part-time position from January 2024 until November 2024. This would entail working with the Learning and Development Unit to provide support to our Clinical Educators within clinical areas via hands-on teaching, mentoring and guidance to all Nurses including Graduate Nurses, Postgraduate Nursing students and Registered Nurses to develop further:
- Supernumerary supported time in a range of settings
- Support for the acquisition of clinical skills
- Supporting continuing professional development
- Providing clinical supervision
- Supporting formal education programs
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate an interest in clinical education and support of students and Graduates, as well as holding multiple clinical competencies. It is advantageous if an applicant is a current assessor, although training can be provided for a suitable applicant.
