Position Summary

Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program - *Acute Surgical / Theatre Stream*
Registered Nurse Grade 2 – Full or Part time (1 year fixed term commencing January 2019)

 

West Gippsland Healthcare Group are now accepting applications for our 2019 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program.

Our program is based at the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul) where we offer an interesting, challenging and well supported Graduate Program in an attractive rural environment.

 

We are offering positions in the following disciplines:

  • Acute
  • Combined Midwifery/Nursing (Double Degree)
  • Sub-Acute
  • Sub-Acute GEM

Each discipline consists of a number of differing streams.

Applicants are invited to apply for one or more steams of interest.

 

This advert is for Graduates wanting to apply under the 'Acute' discipline, specifically in the Acute Surgical / Theatre stream. 

Rotations within this stream may include Surgical, Theatre, Day Surgery and Short Stay.

 

Successful candidates will be able to nominate their preference for either a part time (32 hours per week) or full time (40 hours per week with ADO accrual) working arrangement.

 

In order for your application to be considered, as per PMCV Computer Match guidelines, you must be either:

  • A Victorian trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
  • A current Victorian resident – Distance Education Nursing/Midwifery Graduate
  • An Australian Interstate trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
  • A New Zealand trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)

You must also:

  • Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Have not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Graduate Midwifery Program
  • Have completed your Nursing and/or Midwifery degree in January-December 2018 academic year

Application Process

In order to be considered, you must lodge your application via the below link AND register with the PMCV Computer Matching Program.

The following items are mandatory for all applications:

  • Letter of application (cover letter) addressed to Wendy Ruddell
  • Resume inclusive of a passport sized photo and 3 professional clinical nursing referees (preferably from mid second year and third year)
  • Response to Key Selection Criteria
  • 3 clinical appraisals (preferably most recent and including either a medical or surgical appraisal)
  • Up to date certified Academic Transcript (Education Certificate)

Outcomes
