Registered Nurse Grade 4 Clinical Consultant A

16 hours per week

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified Registered Nurses who would like to become part of the busy and diverse Consulting Suites team. This position is intended to support men and women in the hospital with urological conditions.  It is intended that the Urology Nurse will support staff by planning, implementing and evaluating the quality of care and best practise in health delivery.  Development of policy and procedure as required to assist in the management and discharge of urology clients is part of this role.  The Urology Nurse will also provide supportive care to all urology and gynaecological cancer patients.

The position provides the clinician the opportunity to demonstrate teaching, clinical and organisational skills in assessing the needs of clients of West Gippsland Healthcare Group with urological conditions.

 

Required skills and experience include:

  • Degree or other qualification as a general nurse with a current Nurses and Midwifery Board of Australia Registration.
  • Successful completion of the Urology/Continence Graduate Certificate / Diploma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Urology and current best practice in providing Urology services.
  • Recent experience in clinical practice working in the areas of urology; in particular TOV, BCG, bladder scans/flow rates and patient education.
  • Previous Experience within an acute setting of a hospital or health care environment.
