Maternity & Gynaecology Unit
Registered Midwives
Permanent full and part-time hours available
We currently have a range of hours available in our Maternity & Gynaecology Unit for suitably qualified Registered Midwives. We offer a friendly, team focused work environment, comprehensive orientation to the department and organisation, in house salary packaging and free car parking. We have a learning culture that encourages ongoing education and access to study leave (as per the EBA), support and assistance from our Educators.
REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated sound level of midwifery skills and/or experience working within a Special Care Nursery.
- Works within safe practice principles.
- Understanding of and commitment to the Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI).
- Understanding of current midwifery practice, including the Maternity Services Framework for Victoria.
- Commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated written and computer skills at the level required to fulfill the role.
Desirable:
- Dual Nurse/Midwife registration with AHPRA.
- Substantial experience and clinical competence in the practice of midwifery.
