Consumer Engagement & Volunteers Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of Consumer Engagement & Volunteers Coordinator. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Coordinator will contribute to an environment that empowers consumers to be active participants in their care in line with the organisation’s value of person-centred care, as well as having responsibility for leading the organisation’s volunteer program. As this role requires the incumbent to take a lead role in our organisation’s consumer partnership activities and requires the active engagement of our community and staff, we are seeking a proactive, community minded individual with experience in consumer engagement, training, and quality improvement activities.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate an understanding of person-centred care and the role of consumers in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of health services.
• Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of health literacy, consumer engagement and network development, including current policies and frameworks.
• Have skills in report writing.
• Have experience in continuous improvement, risk management, and accreditation activities.
• Have experience in the management of volunteer programs.
• Have experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment.
