2024 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program - *Sub Acute Discipline* (Round 2)

Registered Nurse Grade 2 – 32 hours per week
12 months Fixed Term commencing January 2024

West Gippsland Healthcare Group are now accepting Round 2 applications for our 2024 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program.  Our program operates across the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul), Cooinda Lodge (Warragul) and Andrews House (Trafalgar) where we offer interesting, challenging and well-supported Graduate Programs in Registered Nursing and Midwifery.  We have EIGHT Positions left in our Sub-acute/Aged Care Stream. 

We are offering positions in the following disciplines.

Sub-Acute

• GEM
• Aged Care
• Acute (1 rotation) 

This advert is for Graduates wanting to apply under the 'SUB ACUTE' discipline.

Rotations within streams may include Aged Care, GEM, Medical, or Surgical.

Applicants are invited to apply for one or more streams of interest. Please indicate your preferred stream/s within your cover letter.

Eligibility
As per PMCV Computer Match guidelines, you must be either:

• A Victorian trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
• A current Victorian resident – Distance Education Nursing/Midwifery Graduate
• An Australian Interstate trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
• A New Zealand trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)

You must also:

• Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Have not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Graduate Midwifery Program
• Have completed your Nursing and/or Midwifery degree in January-December 2023 academic year

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.

The following items are mandatory for all applications:

• Letter of application (cover letter) addressed to Jess Hill
• Resume inclusive of a passport-sized photo and 3 professional Clinical Nursing referees (preferably from mid-second year and third year)
• Response to Key Selection Criteria
• 3 Clinical Appraisals (preferably most recent and including either a Medical or Surgical Appraisal)
• Up-to-date certified Academic Transcript (Education Certificate)

Outcomes
