Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program - *Acute Discipline* (Round 2)

Registered Nurse Grade 2 – 32 hours per week
12 months Fixed Term commencing January 2024


West Gippsland Healthcare Group are now accepting applications for our 2024 Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Program.  Our program is based at the West Gippsland Hospital (Warragul) where we offer interesting, challenging and well-supported Graduate Programs in Registered Nursing and Midwifery.  We have ONE position left in our Acute Stream at 0.8EFT.

This advert is for Graduates wanting to apply under the 'ACUTE' discipline.

Rotations within streams may include Emergency, Theatre, Day Surgery, District Nursing / Hospital in the Home, Medical, and Surgical.

Applicants are invited to apply for one or more streams of interest. Please indicate your preferred stream/s within your cover letter.   

 

Eligibility
As per PMCV Computer Match guidelines, you must be either:

  • A Victorian trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
  • A current Victorian resident – Distance Education Nursing/Midwifery Graduate
  • An Australian Interstate trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)
  • A New Zealand trained Nursing/Midwifery Graduate (citizen/permanent resident)

You must also:

  • Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Have not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse or Graduate Midwifery Program
  • Have completed your Nursing and/or Midwifery degree in January-December 2023 academic year

 

IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare/aged care sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

Working with us

All appointments with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a NDIS worker screening clearance and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six month probationary period applies to all new appointments.

  • Resume inclusive of a passport-sized photo and 3 professional Clinical Nursing referees (preferably from mid-second year and third year.
  • 3 Clinical Appraisals (preferably most recent)
  • Up-to-date certified Academic Transcript (Education Certificate)
